The Story Behind the Book



This little gift book is perfect for anyone who has struggled with the incomprehensible
and often seemingly illogical nature of God.  THE TREE tells the story of a woman
who climbs a mountains seeking inner peace because she has none.  She comes to
sit beneath a lone pine tree, which grows above the tree line. It shouldn't grow there,
yet it does because God wills it so.  God indeed has a perfect and good purpose for
its seemingly inexplicable life.  And it is also by God's will in this allegory that the tree
and mountain into which it has grown roots, speak to the woman of where true inner
peace is to be found.

Note from Elizabeth:

The night of July 3, 1994 I felt a prompting from the Holy Spirit to
rise from my bed and write.  I argued with Him at first.  I was tired
and wanted to sleep!!  Yet I know better....(seems like I always talk
back to Father God before I obey).  So ultimately I did get up.  Pen
and yellow pad in hand it was as if the words were downloaded into
me.  They flooded my mind at a frenzied pace.  Then after 45
minutes it was over and I returned to bed exhausted, thinking I had
drafted perhaps a rough draft of something.  Yet amazingly, with the
exception of modification of a few sentences for clarification, THE
TREE remains as He gave it to me that night for you!  May THE
TREE bring the whisper of His peace into your heart.
